License Number Recognition System

The system is based on the ability to search for the vehicle license plate in camera video signaling and its follow-up conversion into a text file. The recognized license plate in the text format can be compared with records in the databases. This way it is e.g. possible to detect the stolen vehicles, to report vehicle parameters from the database, to trigger alarms at the entry of some unauthorized vehicle, to track and to search for records of the vehicles passage in the lists, etc.

System Function

The computer evaluates the camera image at the moment when the vehicle reaches the checkpoint and finds a field, on which the license plate is situated. From several consecutive images it tries to identify and to compare the characters in the field with the license plate number. It offers the most suitable result as the recognition result in the character format ASCII for further processing. Recognition and license plate identification parameters can be precisely adjusted according to local conditions.
