Technical Information

The AKTION identification system uses the contactless (RFID) or the biometric identification. Due to a high modularity and a wide range of components, it provides solutions for corporate companies, enterprises, institutions and small businesses. The system can be realized in smaller units or complex, including accessories such as turnstiles, barriers, gates and other peripherals.

Types of Devices

  • Series MINICON - autonomous access control system to 250 identifiers with no connection to PC
  • Series SINGLECON - network system for small and medium-sized applications
  • Series MULTICON - a system for medium and large applications with a high security (antipassback)

Basic Information about SW

The AKTION software system solution has been designed in the Client-Server architecture. As the database server the Microsoft MSDE or Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and higher, running under the operating system MS Windows, may be used. The client’s side of application is created in Borlad Delphi and Visual Basic and is run under the operating environment Windows XP or NT. The AKTION system has been designed to operate on one or more computers being hardware compatible with the standard IBM PC. The client applications access to the SQL database under a single user account Aktion. The differentiation of rights is solved at the level of applications, the domain accounts are almost always used for login into the system and the password authentication is via Active Directory.

SW Installation and Operation

In the case of the network installation of the Aktion system, the individual software applications (modules) may run on different PCs on the network. To operate the system, it is recommended to use the following versions:

  • Using a separate computer (a communication server) for the location of the SQL database server and communication program ADM. Each network station will serve only to run the application programs (ACL, MDO ...). This option is suitable for smaller applications having lower demands on speed and performance.
  • Installing the SQL database separately on dedicated database server, respectively on the existing company server. The ADM communication program will be launched separately on the separate computer. This option is preferable in terms of the system management and maintenance, for example, it is not necessary to restart the server when performing modifications to the SW. Application programs (ACL, MDO ...) will be launched on the network stations.

Requirements for Preparation

  • Ensuring the administrator’s accesses to the server and stations
  • Connectivity of client stations in the case of using the existing SQL database server
  • Active sockets for the HW connection
  • Open TCP/IP port in the range of values 11,000> 14,050
  • Determination of persons being responsible for the system administration
